Fine, but get an alignment after

Went on my RS4 B7 1.4 TFSI at 44k miles. I torqued everything at ride height rather than with the suspension hanging. The weight matches the original almost exactly, which the cheap ones never do. On balance the car no longer floats over crests and settles in one movement. Fine for the money, with that one caveat.

Correct damping rate

Bought for a 2008 A4 B8. I fitted both sides together as you should, then had it aligned the same week. The paint and plating look like they will survive a few winters of salt. Result is the clonk over speed bumps that started this job has completely gone. Happy to recommend it.

Night and day difference

My A5 8T needed this doing at 144k miles. The rod is properly finished with no machining marks and the seal is clean. I fitted both sides together as you should, then had it aligned the same week. Result is it tracks straight on the motorway instead of wandering. Happy to recommend it.

Leaked within a month

Fitted to my 2020 A6 C8. One unit was visibly weeping oil down the body within a few weeks. Expected better given the cost.

Ride is composed again

Bought for a 2016 A7 4G. The rod is properly finished with no machining marks and the seal is clean. Spring compressors out and the strut rebuilt on the bench in an afternoon. Result is sharp expansion joints no longer send a bang through the cabin. Cannot fault it.

Well damped, not harsh

Fitted to my 2010 A1 8X. Spring compressors out and the strut rebuilt on the bench in an afternoon. Damping is progressive when you compress it by hand, not dead at the top of the stroke. Result is the clonk over speed bumps that started this job has completely gone.

Car feels new again

My RS4 B7 needed this doing at 128k miles. I torqued everything at ride height rather than with the suspension hanging. Damping is progressive when you compress it by hand, not dead at the top of the stroke. Result is body roll through roundabouts is properly controlled again. No complaints at all.
