Ignition Coil for V6 / V8 (06C). OE number 06C 905 115 M. Main group 905 sub-group 115. Revision index M. Replace coils as a full set — mixing a new coil with worn ones is the usual cause of a repeat misfire. Older 115-series coil.

Engine light off first drive

Went on my A4 B9 2.0 TFSI at 70k miles. A smear of dielectric grease went on the boot before it was seated. Identical moulding and connector to the failed original I took out. Result is it pulls cleanly through the rev range again with no stumble under load.

Failed after two months

Second one of these I have bought, this time for the RS4 B7. It started misfiring on the same cylinder again after about eight weeks. A smear of dielectric grease went on the boot before it was seated. Disappointing for the price.

Boot split on installation

Fitted to my 2023 TT 8S. The boot tore as I seated it, which suggests the rubber compound is not right. Disappointing for the price.

Exactly like the originals

Cross-referenced the OE number against my 2018 A6 C7 before ordering. The spring contact is firm and seated with a definite click. I replaced all four at once rather than chase them one at a time. Result is it pulls cleanly through the rev range again with no stumble under load. Would order again without hesitation.
